Ingredients and quantity

  • Parboiled rice – 400gms.
  • Black gram dal – 100gms.
  • Salt – To taste.
  • Fenugreek seeds – 3gms.
  • Soda bi carbonate – 2gms.

Method of preparation

  1. Soak rice and fenugreek seeds for 8 hours and black gram dal for just one hour.
  2. Grind both separately. Mix them both with salt.
  3. Leave it to become little sour for another 8 hours.
  4. Before putting in idly moulds mix the batter in egg beating style motion.
  5. Pour them in idly moulds and steam the idly.
  6. Serve hot.
