postheadericon Mutton curry

Ingredients and quantity

  • Mutton – 250gms.
  • Onions / small onions (shallots) – 50gms.
  • Tomatoes – 50gms.
  • Ginger and garlic paste – 5gms.
  • Oil – 20ml
  • Garam masala – 8gms.
  • Fennel (Somph) powdered – 10gms.
  • Turmeric powder – 4gms.
  • Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
  • Chilli powder – 10gms.
  • Coriander powder – 20gms.
  • Poppy seeds (Khus khus) – 5gms.
  • Coconut grated – 50gms.
  • Black pepper powder – 8gms.
  • Coriander leaves – 10gms.

Method of preparation

  1. Boil mutton with ginger, garlic paste, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric power and salt.
  2. Grind together fennel seeds, khus khus and grated coconut.
  3. Heat oil add curry leaves, onions, tomatoes, garam masala, powdered somph, pepper powder, and the ground paste.
  4. Add the mutton along with the liquid.
  5. When the mutton is tender garnish with coriander leaves.
