postheadericon Dal tadka

Ingredients and quantity

  • Toor dal – 100gms.
  • Onions – 50gms.
  • Tomatoes – 50gms.
  • Oil – 50ml.
  • Green gram dal (Moong dal ) – 50gms.
  • Garlic – 30gms.
  • Dry red chilli – 5gms.
  • Turmeric powder – 5gms.
  • Cumin – 5gms.
  • Salt – To taste
  • Asafoetida – 1gms.

Method of preparation

  1. Wash and soak both the dals with salt, garlic and turmeric powder. Mash and set aside.
  2. Heat oil, and add chopped onions, tomatoes, boiled and mashed dals.
  3. Separately heat ghee and add chopped garlic, cumin, dry red chilli and asafoetida and add to dal.
  4. Serve garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
