Ingredients and quantity

  • Basmati rice – 250gms.
  • Onions – 1nos.
  • Cloves – 2gms.
  • Cinnamon – 2gms.
  • Cardamom – 2 gms.
  • Coconut milk – 1 ½ times the rice quantity
  • Fried cashew nuts – 20gms.
  • Butter – 20gms.
  • Coconut oil – 20ml.
  • Salt – to taste.
  • Grated coconut – for garnish 10gms.

Method of preparation

  1. Wash and soak rice.
  2. Fry the onion to brown colour and store for garnish.
  3. Use the same oil and add cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, rice and seal the rice.
  4. Add coconut milk and cook on a slow fire.
  5. Put in dum for fifteen minutes.
  6. Now garnish with browned onions, cashew nuts and grated coconut.
