Ingredients and quantity

  • Whole Wheat flour – 500gms.
  • Cloves – 1gm.
  • Sugar – 300gms.
  • Lemon – Few drops.
  • Clarified butter – 150gms.
  • Oil – 50ml.
  • Menthol – ¼gms.
  • Salt – 2gms.
  • Cashew nuts – 100gms.
  • Orange red coloring – Few drops
  • Cardamom powder – 2gms.

Method of preparation

  1. Make dough with whole wheat flour.
  2. Soak it in a bowl water for 4 to 8 hours. Wash well and take the sticky jelly like substance.
  3. Make sugar syrup and clarify with lemon juice. Add the jelly substance. Add diluted colouring, salt., and menthol.
  4. Stir continuously till halwa consistency is reached. Add oil and see that it gets incorporated in to the halwa. Finally finish with clarified butter and cardamom powder.
  5. Garnish with fried cashew nuts
