Ingredients and quantity

  • Bengal gram flour – 100gms.
  • Rice flour – 25gms.
  • Chilli powder – 5gms.
  • Asafoetida – 3gms.
  • Salt – To taste.
  • Oil – For frying
  • Turmeric powder – 3gms.
  • Raw plantains (Vazhakka) / Onion slices / Potato slices – 2nos.

Method of preparation

  1. Make a batter with Bengal gram flour, rice flour, chilli powder, asafoetida and salt.
  2. Slice the plantain lengthwise after removing the skin. Dip in the batter and fry.
